Reviews of Our Field Of Dreams Event

Enjoy the reviews below!!
- You built it and they came!!!!
- “Bucket list type event”
- If Scott Green plans it, players will come!
- Great experience.
- Wonderful experience.
- Maybe a once in a lifetime opportunity to have this experience. Great time.
- Great time to be with good people!
- Life time memory!!! Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would play at the field of dreams when I started playing baseball again 2 years ago.
- Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, Greenie exceeded even the highest expectations. The people of Dyersville opened their arms to greet us unlike any event I’ve attended before. This tournament should be on any baseball fan’s bucket list.
- Is this HEAVEN? =)
- Overall fantastic experience
- Without question the most thrilling baseball experience of my life.
- Field of Dreams to me and my son is a very special magical place. It’s hard to explain it into words. It was an emotional experience! It was professionally ran and all the guys from all the teams were awesome to play with and against. I’ll gladly return for next year’s Field of Dreams!
- Every baseball fans bucket list
- I loved Reds Fantasy Camp. This was a great extension of that, incredible experience!
- Was absolutely wonderful. I had a great time, great people, nice town, great fields.
- Overall this was one of the best Play at the Plate events (excluding Wrigley & Fenway).
- The atmosphere was excellent, the weather very good, easy to get to the fields and teammates made this event very relaxed.
- This was one of the best events (Japan has been the best) for Play at the Plate – not a Major League experience, but definitely worth the time and money.
- Once in a lifetime chance!!
- Wonderful experience in a wonderful location. The off-the-field-experience – the camaraderie, making new friends and the experience of Dyersville, watching the movie under the stars – is one I would happily repeat.
- This was a fun event for all skill levels. The Field of Dreams movie site was a lot of fun. The weather was PERFECT. I met a great group of guys that love playing baseball and have a good time. Dyersville, IA is a step back in time to small town Midwest USA. I thoroughly enjoyed this event!
- Dyersville is a delightful town with friendly people and a special link to baseball.
- Great opportunity to play on that field. Great memory.
- It was great being in middle America in a really cool small town, and seeing a beautiful creation from Hollywood become a possible venue for future Play at The Plate events!
- Found new friends , experienced seeing rural & sights of the United States which I probably would not have traveled, the field of dreams & its history, the Mississippi & its surroundings, the city of Dubuque, & Dyersville & oh yes ,the corn fields!
- Come find the magic of baseball with the ghosts in the corn fields of Iowa! Live & play on the Field of Dreams!
- FOD is beautiful and worthy of a regular yearly event!
- Great event, especially for father/son tandem.
- A lot of fun. I enjoyed the guys who were on my team.
See you on the field,
Greenie

The 15th Annual Palm Beach Classic
THE 15TH ANNUAL PALM BEACH CLASSIC
ROGER DEAN STADIUM
JUPITER FLORIDA
APRIL 5-8, 2018
It’s hard to believe that next year will mark our 15th year in the adult baseball market. Our business started at Roger Dean Stadium and Complex and even though we have brought our clients to places like Fenway, Wrigley, Progressive Field, Rickwood Field etc….the Palm Beach Classic is what put us on the map and what keeps us going year after year.
Why? It was the first event in this market that included the use of a clubhouse, had laundry service, provided daily lunch and played on premium fields just a few days after spring training ends.
It is the best preseason event for the league player in America today. You’ll play 7 games over the 4 days, an early arrival practice, have a locker in the Cardinals clubhouse, laundry service and lunch across the street at J.J. Muggs Sports Grille. We even procure 2 great area hotels that offer our clients a fabulous rate for the 4 days.
Last year 40% of the players who attended took advantage of our summer sale and saved $100 on the registration fee. This year’s Summer Sale will run until the first pitch of the All-Star Game in Miami, July 11th.
So take advantage of the Sale it’s the last chance to save on this and other tournaments.

Summer Sale Extension
Twin Cities Classic
A league of your own
Steve Sparks
Ray Steiner
Hello Players,
Summer has officially started and we are gearing up for a busy August and September. In the meantime, I travel around looking for interesting places to play for next year and beyond.
We hope your favorite MLB team is doing well so far (mine isn’t) and of course the team you play on in your local league.
A TRIP TO DYERSVILLE – FIELD OF DREAMS 2018 DATES
A few weeks ago I ventured out to Dyersville Iowa to do some in-person prep work for our two-weekend events in August. To say that the citizens of that quaint town are happy to see us coming and staying in their town is an understatement. We are one of the first groups ever to play 3-day event at Field of Dreams and Commercial Club Park (perhaps the finest secondary field we will ever use).
I met with town board members and they are going to roll out the red carpet for our groups. We’ll have a professional photographer taking pictures of you on the field and coming out of the corn which should be at the proper height by August 10th. The facility in downtown Dyersville, Commercial Club Park will be the scene of our day games and BBQ Party and the showing of the movie Field of Dreams under the Iowa star lit sky. If you’ve never been to this part of America it is beautiful! Not flat, but rolling hills and vistas for miles on end. I loved it. I am psyched for it and we have already procured dates for next year which are August 17-19 and August 24 to 26, 2018.
These two 2018 Field of Dreams camps will go on sale next week. As many of you know we sold the first camp out in one day and then a second one. So if you didn’t get the chance to play this year sign up early for what will become a PATP staple…
TWIN CITIES CLASSIC
After Dyersville, we move a little further north to the Twin Cities for our 2-day event at CHS Field and Target Field. That event is half sold out as I type and to be honest, may be the last chance to get to a Major League Park. It took 3 years to agree to dates for this trip. So if you’ve never played in an MLB park…this may be your last chance with us.

SUMMER SALE EXTENSION
We extended the summer sale to end when the first pitch is thrown in Miami at the All-Star Game. Take advantage of the savings. We will not be running any Black Friday or Holiday Sale…last year 40% of the players in Palm Beach saved 100 dollars on their early registration alone.

A LEAGUE OF YOUR OWN
As mentioned in the last newsletter, we are affiliated with a league in New Jersey…it’s working out great for everyone concerned. With that in mind, if you would like to start a league or are currently running one, or are in one and you feel it’s not working out for whatever reasons…give us a call. We are looking to expand. All of the major adult leagues are great, we draw our clientele from them, but every once in a while a problem comes up or perhaps the league is so small it gets overlooked. If that’s the case where you play, let’s talk.
STEVE SPARKS
And finally, I am sure most if not all of you heard of the passing of Steve Sparks one of our favorite clients. We will be renaming the Lone Star Classic in Houston in his honor. Sparky was one of a kind and we will miss him terribly.
RAY STEINER
Another great client can use some prayers and good vibes and that is Maryland’s own Ray Steiner. Ray is another special player who brings life, joy and a competitive zeal to every event he participates in. He suffered a heart attack a few weeks ago but has had a successful triple bypass and is home and according to friends is already looking at the schedule to join us soon….get better soon Ray.
Keep sharing our Facebook posts and enjoy a safe summer….see you soon.

Dear Players,
We hope you are enjoying your long holiday weekend standing over the grill, vacationing, watching a ball game or just relaxing as we celebrate the unofficial start to summer. We also hope you have taken a few moments to think about what this holiday means to our country.
Just a quick update on things that are going on…..
IOWA
I’ll be heading to Iowa next week for our site visit and to put the finishing touches on our 2 Field of Dreams tournaments in August. There are only 4 spots left for the weekend of August 10-13. We are looking extremely forward to these unique events which we hope to make into an annual trek. We’ll be posting pics next week on social media… REGISTER Field of Dreams 2
MINNESOTA
As most of you know we have added Target Field in Minnesota and CHS Field in St. Paul for a 2-day event Sept. 9-10. All the details are on the website including the link to the Millennium Hotel in downtown Minneapolis. The sign ups already have been excellent so don’t wait too long to pull the trigger on the chance to play in a major league park, which by the way is becoming more and more difficult. This could be the last time… REGISTER Twin Cities
SUMMER SALE
This coming Friday, June 2nd we will launch our annual Summer Sale (Minnesota will not be on included). Last year 40% of the players who came to our Palm Beach Classic took advantage of the saving and signed up. Myrtle Beach, Cooperstown, Daytona Beach and the Lone Star Classic will be included in the sale. We’ll run it for 2 weeks until June 18th. Again all the info is on the site so heads up for another email later this week concerning just the sale.
PATPNJ
I wanted to shout out to a group of players in New Jersey who have adopted our name for their newly formed league run by good friend Kevin Smith. It’s Play at the Plate New Jersey. Kevin has done a remarkable job in setting up a large contingent of players in North Jersey for a mid-week and Sunday League. We agreed that Kevin could use our name in return for his promotion of PATP. He’s done that and we are thrilled that PATPNJ will have a full squad and be joining us in Dyersville this August.
VETERANS DISCOUNT
And finally as we remember those who gave their lives so that we can live in freedom and pursue our dreams, I would like to announce our new Veterans Discount Policy for PATP effective 5/29/2017. If you are a former or current person who has served in our military, we’d like to offer you a 10% discount to any and all PATP events from this moment forward. You’ll sign up online for the regular price and we’ll rebate you your 10%….it’s easier that way. Just mention your service to us in the comments box when registering.
Well, get back to the hamburgers…..knowing some of you I’m sure they’re burning….
God Bless America
Speak to you soon.

MYRTLE BEACH/RICKWOOD NEWS
ALL STAR FANTASY CAMP
A NEW VENUE IN THE WORKS?
FIELD OF DREAMS
MATT LEEDOM FUNDRAISER
Hello Players,
Lots of news to discuss…please read it all the way through…..
I want to thank all the players who made the trip down to Palm Beach a few weeks ago. After 14 years there I leave that event knowing it was one of the best events we have held at that fabulous facility. Many thanks to my staff of volunteers, Dave Vonderhaar of the Cardinals and all of Roger Deans staff for making it an easy event to run.
Congrats go to the division-winning Pirates and Reds. The Reds beat a very good Jersey shore team in the most exciting final in PATP history with a 4 to 3 12 inning victory. If it had gone another inning or 2 some guys may have missed their flights back home….great game and great sportsmanship was shown by all on the field!
The dates for next year’s PB Classic are April 5 to 8, 2018
Every once in a while as we attempt to bring fresh new places to play in addition to our usual spots we run into a little problem with sales…unfortunately, that is the case for our scheduled May event in Myrtle Beach. I guess a week before Memorial Day wasn’t the best timing. But have no fear we are going there!
The Pelicans have agreed to move our dates to September 29 to October 1. These dates became available on our schedule after I received an email from The Friends of Rickwood which informed us that the city of Birmingham has found structural issues in the grandstand and have closed the park for the remainder of 2017. Personally, I’m heartbroken. I love that field dearly and sincerely wish this is not the beginning of the end for that great park. They are awaiting estimates on fixing the issues and hope to reopen in 2018. I pray the city spends the money on it and we return in 2018. It would be a sin to let that park die.
This July in Miami is the annual MLB All-Star Game. For the past 7 years we have run MLB’s fantasy camp. That program has been dropped due to lack of interest. In fact, we sold 10 spots last year to make it happen.
That all being said, we believe we can get 24 people together for a great 4 or 5 day camp complete with all the trimmings…tix to the games etc. uniforms, 4-star lodging, food and great former pros to be coaches. We will be putting this out for formal sale next week as we finish up some details.
Our Field of Dreams trips are close to being sold out. The original weekend August 18-20 has had 2 cancellations. The registration page is open again. Our second week has about 14 spots left, but they may be taken by a group who are trying to get a team together. I have told them the page is open and I will not hold spots. So August 10-13 is also open.
And a note about this camp…There is going to be a 24 field complex built around the site of Field of Dreams later this year. I think the cozy feeling of the site will be lost and I honestly don’t think it will be a camp we will offer again. I think it’s a one and done deal…..so if you are on the fence…get off it and join us!
I want to thank all of the Palm Beach Campers who bought a shirt to help our stricken baseball brother Matt Leedom. It means a lot to the family. There will be a fundraising day in Sioux Falls S.D. on May 13th…yours truly might finally visit the great plains and help out. I’ll keep you posted on details if you’d like to contribute to Matt and his family.
On a sad note, our great friend Steve Sparks has taken a turn for the worse with his struggle against cancer. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. PATP has never known such a giving and baseball loving man.
And finally, we are always looking for venues and may have found one in Camden N.J….Campbell’s Field…might be a flash summer early fall event in the works…
Keep swinging for the fences!!

It’s been awhile since a news update and there is plenty to talk about, so let’s get started.
Congratulations to Carlos Ramon and his Texas Thunder team that won our inaugural event in Sugar Land Texas at beautiful Constellation Field.
All 4 teams played great ball and it was arguably the best baseball to be played at any PATP event. The Thunder and the Bandits have committed to join us in Birmingham later this year for the Champions League at Rickwood Field.
Many thanks also to Matt Thompson, Ryan Kerr from the Skeeters and the other managers, Mike Berno, Kevin Cosgriff-Hernandez and Adam Berge. We look forward to next year.
The 14th Annual Palm Beach Classic is just over 3 weeks away. (Where did the years go?)
Registration for this event will end on March 26th. If you are on a team you still must individually register on line. All fees must be paid by the 26th. I’d like not to have to chase fees all weekend.
Also our 2 hotel choices, The Embassy Suites in PB Gardens and The Courtyard Marriott across the street from Roger Dean will close out the block of rooms we have made available. I will not be able to help you with a room after that date.
We should also have in place some dining discounts for player who want to have their evening meal by the ballpark. We are also tinkering with a party at the ball park one night during the PB Cardinals and Pt. St. Lucie Mets game.
So please register before the deadline and get your rooms all set up.
It was a real long road trip with the event in Sugar Land and the many site visits I made to various parks, complexes and stadiums for future events. I think we are about to add one more event this fall in Florida that would be convenient for players attending other fall tournaments. We are also very close to announcing a February event in Florida for 2018. I think you’ll love the choice.
These road trips although exhausting at times are essential to bringing you to places I think you’ll love playing at and separates us from the lazy start up adult baseball businesses that just procure destinations based on where I have brought them previously or announced an event at a new location after we have.
There is only one place we play at currently that I went to before I started PATP and that is Cooperstown. Every other place we researched.
So to my new competitors…get off your ass and do some homework!
John Baessler
And finally, is it with great regret that I tell the PATP family of the horribly premature passing of John Baessler. Johnny ran our trip to Japan and was great friend of mine. I and those who knew John will miss him terribly. I have a posted tribute to him on Facebook…R.I.P. Johnny Boy!
Don’t forget the PB Classic deadlines!!
