Dear Players,

Hope you are enjoying the last remnants of your summer. I’ve been relaxing the past few weeks after a hectic June and July that had 3 events in 4 weeks…A few weeks from now will see us at the busiest time of the year with 4 events in 6 weeks…including our annual trip to Japan.

Mud Hens Mania Recap

We had a great time in Toledo last month at our first annual Mud Hens Mania which took place at both the former and current home of the Hens. 5/3 Field in downtown Toledo was just spectacular. One of the nicest parks we have ever played in. The weather was great and the baseball was excellent. Thanks to Tim Egan who almost singlehandedly takes care of Ned Skeldon for keeping the field in such great shape. The “tournament” was won by the pool team led by yours truly. I want to thank: Brad Hodgson, Dan Ross, Jim Lewandowski and Ray Steiner for recruiting and managing their teams. We look forward to returning next year…

Cardines Classic

In 3 weeks we descend to another new venue, Cardines Field in beautiful Newport, Rhode Island for our first event at quaint Cardines Field. It’s a small event just 2 teams, but a sailboat ride around Narraganset and the beauty of the Cliff Walk, and the museums will make this event a very special one.  I am really looking forward to being up there. I fell in love with the town and look forward to returning for a long time.

Doubleday Fall Classic

The very next week it’s back to “The birthplace of baseball” Cooperstown N.Y. for our umpteenth trip. It’s the perfect father/child trip. Not only do we play on Doubleday Field but we get the Hall of Fame to ourselves for an hour after hours. The town is virtually ours. It’s a great place to be in the middle of September, spots are still available.

Japan

Then we are off to our 3rd annual trip to Japan. If it weren’t for the returning jet lag I’d go there 2 or 3 times a year. It’s fabulous. We have a full team and we are very excited to be playing against several good Japanese Adult teams. Add all the sightseeing and it really is a special time.

The Champions League

No rest for the very weary…right to New Orleans for our 3rd Annual Champions League tournament which features the best baseball we offer. If you have a group of players or a team, this is the place to play. Throw in all that New Orleans offers and it is one hell of a trip.

Well I hope your favorite team is doing well this year…mine is…..and your summer has been enjoyable and safe. Relax and take it easy these last few days of August and we’ll see you this fall. As always thanks for your support….
