John Baessler Tribute

It’s been awhile since a news update and there is plenty to talk about, so let’s get started.

Congratulations to Carlos Ramon and his Texas Thunder team that won our inaugural event in Sugar Land Texas at beautiful Constellation Field.
All 4 teams played great ball and it was arguably the best baseball to be played at any PATP event. The Thunder and the Bandits have committed to join us in Birmingham later this year for the Champions League at Rickwood Field.
Many thanks also to Matt Thompson, Ryan Kerr from the Skeeters and the other managers, Mike Berno, Kevin Cosgriff-Hernandez and Adam Berge. We look forward to next year.

The 14th Annual Palm Beach Classic is just over 3 weeks away. (Where did the years go?)
Registration for this event will end on March 26th. If you are on a team you still must individually register on line. All fees must be paid by the 26th. I’d like not to have to chase fees all weekend.
Also our 2 hotel choices, The Embassy Suites in PB Gardens and The Courtyard Marriott across the street from Roger Dean will close out the block of rooms we have made available. I will not be able to help you with a room after that date.
We should also have in place some dining discounts for player who want to have their evening meal by the ballpark. We are also tinkering with a party at the ball park one night during the PB Cardinals and Pt. St. Lucie Mets game.
So please register before the deadline and get your rooms all set up.

It was a real long road trip with the event in Sugar Land and the many site visits I made to various parks, complexes and stadiums for future events. I think we are about to add one more event this fall in Florida that would be convenient for players attending other fall tournaments. We are also very close to announcing a February event in Florida for 2018. I think you’ll love the choice.

These road trips although exhausting at times are essential to bringing you to places I think you’ll love playing at and separates us from the lazy start up adult baseball businesses that just procure destinations based on where I have brought them previously or announced an event at a new location after we have.

There is only one place we play at currently that I went to before I started PATP and that is Cooperstown. Every other place we researched.
So to my new competitors…get off your ass and do some homework!

And finally, is it with great regret that I tell the PATP family of the horribly premature passing of John Baessler. Johnny ran our trip to Japan and was great friend of mine. I and those who knew John will miss him terribly. I have a posted tribute to him on Facebook…R.I.P. Johnny Boy!

Don’t forget the PB Classic deadlines!!
